The ANC is gearing up for one of its most consequential gatherings in years.
From December 8th to 11th, the party will convene its National General Council at Birchwood in Boksburg , a critical mid-term review that comes after its historic electoral losses, and amid deepening questions about the party's renewal, its performance in government, and tensions within the GNU.

This year's NGC is expected to interrogate everything from stalled organisational reform and local government failures, to economic recovery, coalition politics and even the state of South Africa's relationship with the United States, following recent diplomatic tensions.

With expectations high and internal pressure mounting, the ANC heads into this meeting with more at stake than ever before.

For more on this we're joined by Mahlengi Bhengu , ANC spokesperson and Political Analyst Prof Lesiba Teffo.
