In his Political Report, ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa reflected on how the drop in support for the ANC can be linked to the emergence of the MK Party, dissatisfaction with the economy and unemployment, service delivery challenges, and anger about perceptions of widespread corruption.

Ramaphosa presented the report to the delegates at the opening of ANC's 5th National General Council this past Monday here in Boksburg, Ekurhuleni. Amongst other issues, he also reflected on the party's ANC's international perspective and policy.

The President is also expected to close this week's proceedings later this evening after the NGC Declaration is presented to delegates.
