The ANC is not at fault by allowing ANC NEC and NWC member, Senzo Mchunu to carry on with his party duties. This is according to political analyst, Professor Ntsikelelo Breakfast. The ANC rejected Senzo Mchunu's request to step aside from his organisational duties, citing that the party's step aside rule applies to members who are charged by a court of law. Mchunu who is on leave of absence as a Police Minister is accused of interfering in the disbandment of the political killings task team.
