Outata Kambule, an artist from Mahikeng in the North West, has created a significant artwork to mark South Africa's thirty years of democracy and its current political transition.
Kambule built an intricate ancient ship, like those of the Dutch East Indian Company that arrived in the Cape in 1652.
This masterpiece tells the story of South African history and its seven administrations.
He says he was motivated by the outcome of the 2024 general elections, which led to a historic shift in power, with the ANC losing its outright majority, leading to a Government of National Unity.
SABC News reporter Thabang Morutloa and video journalist Andiswa Shabalala visited Kambule and compiled this report.
