To kick off 2015, the U.S. HIV Equal team traveled to Victoria Falls in January to work with the local BEAT AIDS Project Zimbabwe (BAPZ) team to test and photograph the people of Victoria Falls municipality and the surrounding rural villages. On this trip alone, BAPZ managed to test over 600 people for HIV, photograph 589 for the HIV Equal campaign, and deliver 52 new HIV-positive results. These individuals were immediately linked to services with the help of the Zimbabwe Ministry of Health and Child Care’s medical team so that they can get the education and care they need. The testing event took place adjacent the location of the new BAPZ clinic, which opened in June of 2015.
