Police say most of the cartridges found at the Bekkersdal shooting scene were from AK-47 guns. Nine people were killed and ten other wounded.

A special police team has been assembled to investigate the incident. Authorities say all necessary resources have been made available to support the probe.

The shooting occurred in the early hours at a tavern in the Tambo section, where suspects opened fire both inside and outside the premises.
Investigators are searching for the group responsible.Police say the suspects used a Toyota Quantum and a Toyota Etios to reach the scene. A manhunt is currently underway to apprehend those involved.
