Springbok lock Eben Etzebeth is the sole survivor from the last time South Africa beat Ireland in a Test match in Ireland, all the way back in 2012.

Etzebeth is paying no attention to past results, and insists that Ireland's team is still as good as they have ever been, despite slipping to fourth in the world rankings.

Saturday's Test match is being touted as a rematch from the 2023 World Cup pool stage clash, when Ireland edged the Springboks 13-8.
