Methane has become a global climate priority this year, and research from the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and its partners explains why this is particularly critical for Africa.

UNEP's Global Methane Assessment finds that methane is a major driver of near-term warming, worsening droughts, floods, food insecurity, and health risks across the continent.

While reflecting on these findings, Senior Director for Energy Transition at the Environmental Defense Fund Dan Grossman noted that faster methane cuts could deliver tangible, near-term gains for African communities.
