Civil society, researchers, advocacy groups and government representatives have called for a united effort to end stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV and AIDS.

The National Association of People Living with HIV and AIDS, the Human Sciences Research Council and the South African National AIDS Council (SANAC) unveiled the HIV Stigma Index 2.0 report.

The report reveals that, despite progress since the 2014 study, internal or self-stigma continues to be a huge emotional and mental hurdle for people living with HIV and AIDS.
