Coronavirus: South Africa’s stolen COVID-19 funds

South Africa is the worst-hit by the pandemic in Africa, with over 600,000 reported coronavirus cases yet corruption has plagued its response. Officials of the ruling party, the ANC, and private companies are alleged to have looted funds intended to help the public. The auditor-general has already uncovered major irregularities and corruption in that regard and President Cyril Ramaphosa is calling for an investigation.
