Cape Town beaches were unusually quiet this Boxing Day, as most families seemed to have slept in after their Christmas festivities.

The Boxing Day beach tradition has always been a spectacle to observe, with thousands of families arriving at beaches around the City, from very early in the morning.

This year however, it seemed as though most had a late start to their day.
