The United Nations says at least 74 people have been killed and 83 others wounded in recent clashes between government forces and M23 rebels in the east of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The violence, which has seen tens of thousands of people flee, comes just days after US President Donald Trump hosted leaders from Rwanda and the DRC to sign a pact to end the war.

SABC Correspondent Chris Ocamringa has more from Kinshasa.
