President Cyril Ramaphosa says he wants South Africa to be treated as an equal sovereign country and affirmed its fully fledged membership of the G20. This was just his latest response after US Secretary of State Marco Rubio attacked the South African Government in a substack article accusing it of having an appetite for racism and tolerance for violence against its Afrikaner citizens. Rubio further framed South Africa's G20 Presidency as "the politics of grievance" that had nothing to do with economic growth and that the US Government would not extend an invitation to the country to participate in the G20 during its Presidency.
