Negotiations aimed at restoring peace in the east of the Democratic Republic of the Congo have dragged on for months in the Qatari capital of Doha, stalled by disagreements between the Congolese government and the M23 rebels over key demands to end the conflict.

The deadlock has triggered renewed fighting in North and South Kivu, worsening the already dire humanitarian crisis. SABC News Correspondent, Chris Ocamringa has more from Kinshasa.
