The stork has been busy on New Year's Day in the Eastern Cape, delivering 61 babies since midnight.
The new additions are 38 girls and 23 boys. The acting MEC for health, Bukiwe Fanta, welcomed the babies born at Frere Hospital in East London. However, she also raised concern about minors giving birth, calling on boys and men to desist from sleeping with teenage girls. Fanta also urged churches and communities to promote abstinence among the youth.
