The KwaZulu-Natal department of cooperative governance says it continues to monitor the interior parts of the province - for which a level four weather warning of heavy rainfall, severe thunderstorms, and strong winds - have been issued.
The department says its disaster management teams have been put on high alert in large parts of the province.
The areas which might be affected are Newcastle, Dundee, Ulundi in the northern parts of the province, Jozini in the far north-eastern region, Pietermaritzburg and Ladysmith in the midlands and Kokstad in southern KwaZulu-Natal.
