Former Ghana President and Opposition Leader John Mahama Speaks on Calls for Election Inquiry

Published
The presidential candidate for the main opposition National Democratic Congress is calling for an independent forensic investigation into the recent elections. Former President John Dramani Mahama says the conclusion of the inquiry will determine the opposition party's next move. Mahama's remarks come after the electoral commission declared incumbent President Nana Akufo-Addo, winner of the presidential poll with 51 percent of the vote ahead of Mahama’s 47 percent.

In part-one of VOA’s exclusive interview with Mahama, he tells VOA's Peter Clottey that the electoral commission must learn from the errors it committed to ensure they are never repeated in future polls.
