The South African Police Service says protests at the G20 Leaders' Summit this weekend at the Nasrec Expo Centre will only be allowed in designated areas around the venue.

This was announced by during a media briefing by the National Joint Operational and Intelligence Structure, or NATJOINTS, on the security clusters state of readiness to secure the summit.

Several civil society groups are planning to hold demonstrations during the summit.

Deputy National Commissioner for Policing, Tebello Mosikidi, says those that fail to comply and attempt to cause disruptions during the summit will face the full might of the law.
