Former Finance Minister Trevor Manuel says it is surprising that the US made an abrupt turn on its participation in the G20 Leaders' Summit this weekend.

Speaking to SABC News, after presenting the G20 Africa Expert Panel Report to President Cyril Ramaphosa, Manuel says the G20 agenda and participation have been broadened, contrary to the initial establishment of the G20 in 2007. At that time, G20 was a forum of finance ministers and their central bank governors.
