A Mpumalanga farmer, his step-son, and six farm workers have been found guilty of the murder of Sifiso Thwala and Musa Nene at Pampoenkraal Farm near Mkhondo in 2020, and the attempted murder of Sthembiso Thwala.

The Mpumalanga High Court sitting in Middelburg found the eight men guilty on two counts of murder, one of attempted murder and kidnapping.

The court heard that Thwala and Nene died from multiple bruises and haemorrhage, injuries consistent with blunt force trauma caused by various objects.

The court stated that all the accused acted in a common purpose after falsely accusing the three men of stealing two sheep.
