Guterres expresses regret after US withdrawal from 66 international organizations

The United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres has expressed regret at the White House decision to withdraw from a number of UN entities.

This after the United States announced its withdrawal from 66 multilateral organisations, 31 linked to the UN system that the US Secretary of State Marco Rubio described as redundant in their scope, poorly run and that threaten the sovereignty, freedoms and general prosperity of the United States.

The UN Chief, through his spokesperson, said all UN entities would go on with the implementation of their mandates as given by Member States.
