Head of ECOWAS Poll Observer Mission in Ghana Hails Election Process

The head of the Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS, poll observer mission says Ghana’s recent elections were transparent and credible. Ellen Johnson Sirleaf says despite reports of isolated cases of violence, the voters had no problem casting their votes. She also complimented officials of the electoral commission including those at the polling stations for carrying out their duties professionally.

To learn more about the assessment of the ECOWAS poll observer mission monitoring the Ghanaian elections, VOA's Peter Clottey caught up with Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, former Liberian president and head of the election observer group.
