Five people have lost their lives during persistent heavy rains in the Nkomazi Local Municipality.
According to officials, three people drowned while trying to cross flooded bridges and the other two were electrocuted. Aid organisation Gift of the Givers has been in Boschfontein, handing out food parcels to affected families.
