Acting Police Minister, Professor Firoz Cachalia, and North West Premier Lazarus Mokgosi, are visiting the Bapo ba Mogale Traditional Authority following a surge in illegal mining activity in the Bapong village near Brits.

They'll meet Kgosi Andrew Nkoana Mogale and the Bapo ba Mogale Traditional Council as part of government's efforts to curb illicit mining in the area. To date, police have arrested 21 illegal miners and seized heavy machinery as they pursue the masterminds behind the operation.
