Ivory Coast protesters rally against President Ouattara's run for a third term

Ivory Coast: A group of around 50 demonstrators block a road in the Ivorian capital, Abidjan, to protest President Alassane Ouattara's decision to run for a third term in office in October elections.

Mozambique: Islamist militants occupied Mocimboa da Praia, a key port in gas-rich northern Mozambique on Wednesday following days of renewed attacks, a military source and local media said.

Ethiopia: Authorities have detained more than 9,000 people after deadly clashes last month, the state-run human rights commission told Reuters, raising fears that a government hailed for reforms is returning to the iron-fisted tactics of past administrations.
