A legally-binding treaty to restrict the use of plastic and reduce pollution is being discussed by United Nations member states in Kenya’s capital Nairobi.
That's being held as a group of campaigners are sailing a boat made from recycled plastic waste off the country's north coast.
They're conducting the first-ever survey of plastic pollution around Lamu Island.
Al Jazeera's Malcolm Webb joined them.
