A senior KwaZulu-Natal government official has been arrested for breaking several traffic laws which includes drunk driving, reckless driving and possession of a firearm whilst under the influence. The official was arrested by the Road Traffic Inspectorate team in Park Rynie on the south coast of the province. According to a statement released by the provincial Department of Transport, the official was traveling with another intoxicated male and a 17-year-old female occupant. He is detained at Scottburgh Police Station and will make a court appearance soon.
