Lawley Street in Waterkloof in Pretoria transforms into a glowing wonderland each December when residents turn their properties into festive dreamlands with Christmas lights, tinsels, garlands and trees. Their humble abodes shimmer with thousands of lights, creating a magical atmosphere where people from all over Gauteng walk or drive on the road to be part of the spectacle that feels as if the stars have fallen onto rooftops. Young and old walk under sparkling arches with the smell of coffee and food from the stalls permeating the air as carols sound in the background. There is no entrance fee, and young and old come to enjoy some Christmas fun.
