The family of 51-year-old Emmanuel Mbense - who was tortured to death in April 2022 allegedly by law enforcement and private security officers and subsequently dumped in a dam - is demanding answers.
This follows the testimony of Witness D, who has since been identified as Marius van der Merwe.
Slain Van der Merwe revealed that an operation allegedly by EMPD officials led to the murder of a shop owner and an alleged cover up of the act under the alleged guidance of now suspended Acting EMPD Chief, Commissioner Julius Mkhwananzi.
