Evidence brought before the Commission suggests that there are a total of 10 police task teams that are in existence.

During cross-examination yesterday, the commission's chairperson, retired Constitutional Court Justice Mbuyiseli Madlanga, grilled Police Minister Senzo Mchunu about his decision to disband the Political Killings Task Team in KwaZulu-Natal.

Mchunu has told Justice Madlanga that the other task teams are within the jurisdiction of National Police Commissioner Fannie Masemola.
