The Mahlangu family in Ga-Morwe in Mpumalanga is appealing for assistance for their promising young athlete. Seventeen-year-old Adelaide Mahlangu, who began running at an early age, needs sponsorship to continue competing at a higher level. She was selected to represent the province in Cape Town last year but was unable to continue competing due to a lack of proper training gear. Accustomed to training barefoot, Adelaide had to suddenly adapt to running in shoes, which affected her performance. Her family and community believe that with the right support and equipment, she has the potential to excel in athletics.
