The number of matric candidates who participated in group copying during the 2025 National Senior Certificate Final Exams, has doubled from the previous year.
This is according to the Basic Education Department, which conceded that the leakage of the 2025 NSC exams had been from its offices in Pretoria.
According to an interim report released by the National Investigative Task Team today, two basic education department officials have been placed on precautionary suspension, while 40 learners implicated in the scandal, will be barred from participating in the next three National Senior Certificate Examinations.
