As the COP26 talks enter their second day, climate change continues to bring devastation to communities all over the world. People living around Lake Chad are facing their worst environmental and humanitarian crisis in generations.
The UN has described the unfolding crisis - caused by the lake's water loss - as "catastrophic".
Millions of people who depend on the lake are in danger of losing their livelihoods.
And as Al Jazeera's Ahmed Idris reports - the rising poverty is pushing young people to join armed groups.
