Millions of South Africans still have no access to clean water and proper housing. Women are especially affected by inadequate water supply and improper sanitation, which violates their basic human rights. In some communities, they still have to walk for hours to fetch water. Two community leaders, Pamela Mnisi from Protea South in Soweto and Itumeleng Tsotetsi from Somalia Park in Vosloorus, paint a picture of how not having these basic services affects their communities.
