Government has decided to reduce South Africa's inflation target to 3%, with a 1 percentage point tolerance band.
Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana says the 1 percentage point band provides flexibility to accommodate any unexpected inflationary shocks.
Godongwana presented the Medium-Term Budget Policy Statement at a sitting of the National Assembly at the Good Hope Chamber in Parliament yesterday.
