The State has presented evidence which it says links alleged gang boss, Nafiz Modack and two of his associates with the attempted murder of prominent criminal defence attorney, William Booth and the murder of the father of a former Hawks Warrant Officer, who was investigating Modack.
The state has argued that Modack was the mastermind behind the attack on Booth and the murder of Nicolaas Heerschap.
The state says Modack also orchestrated the attempted murder of deceased underworld figure, Andre Naude.
Modack and 14 co-accused face over a hundred charges, including for the 2020 murder of Anti-gang unit detetive Lt Col Charl Kinnear, attempted murder, running a criminal enterprise and money laundering.
