The National Union of Public Service and Allied Workers in the Northern Cape says the provincial department of health's decision to absorb healthcare workers, is long overdue but unfair to some.
The department has permanently appointed over 400 workers community healthcare workers across the province.
Another 300 are still being verified while over 100 are awaiting matric certificate verification.
This comes after the Provincial Treasury allocated more than 130-million rand for the appointment of community healthcare workers.
