The NPA Investigating Directorate is confident that the first state capture-related case will be re-enrolled in due course.

2025 saw NPA fighting to reinstate the R24.9-million Gupta-linked Nulane fraud and money laundering case against eight accused, including two companies.

This followed a huge blow in 2023 when Free State High Court Judge Nompumelelo Gusha delivered a scathing judgment, which led to the discharge of the accused.

This year the Supreme Court of Appeal overturned the Free State High Court decision, which acquitted the accused.

And ordered a re-trial under a different judge. SABC NEWS reporter Makgala Masiteng has been covering the case and compiled this report.
