Pressure to do away with deputy ministers after revelations that two deputy police ministers have been without specific responsibilities for a year, is mounting
Earlier this week, Deputy Police Minister Cassel Mathale told the Ad Hoc Committee in Parliament that police minister Senzo Mchunu has not delegated duties to him and his counterpart Polly Boshielo.
Some political parties, activists and political experts say the creation of deputy minister positions are just jobs for comrades and a waste of tax payers' money.
They are calling for the employment of competent ministers and officials.
