The head of a South African panel investigating rampant state corruption under Jacob Zuma shoots down a bid by the ex-president to have him step aside. And in Burkina Faso exhausted voters are hoping Sunday's presidential election will prompt a return of stability. The country has been marred by jihadist violence.
