South Africa remains the most unequal country in the world.

This is according to the newly released World Inequality Report 2026.

The report released by the World Inequality Lab says there seems to have been no improvement in inequality in the country over the past decade.

Globally, the report paints a stark picture of global disparities, asserting that inequality is no longer confined to income and wealth but now affects every domain of economic and social life.
