The Saartjie Baartman Centre for Women and Children in Cape Town says it has implemented rigorous programmes to support the mental well-being of its professionals.
It says this is in order to be able to provide effective service to the victims of GBV.
The Athlone based centre which is the largest such facility in the country will during this period of the 16 Days of No Violence, focus on the mental health of their workers.
Workshops, peer support activities and self-care plans are some of the emotional support systems encouraged in order to avoid what they call compassionate fatigue
