* The ANC President has called for the immediate release of deposed Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife from a detention facility in New York. He's urged the United Nations Security Council to act urgently to promote peace, security and the rule of law in the oil-rich South American nation.

* The bail application of the man accused of murdering Warrick Stock, also known as "DJ Warras" has been postponed to next Tuesday.
Forty-four-year-old Victor Majola is accused of shooting Stock outside a hijacked building in the Johannesburg CBD month.

* NSFAS has outlined the scheme's readiness to provide funding to eligible students ahead of the 2026 academic year. It is also introducing a centralised, transparent database for accommodation applications and providers for the 2026 academic year - this in an effort to address challenges around student accomodation.
