* Visitors flocked to South African beaches today to celebrate the Day of Goodwil. In Durban visitors praised the KwaZulu-Natal coastal city for its safe and clean beaches.

* The Border Management Authority says its ready to process the influx of travellers who will be returning to South Africa after the festive season.
On Christmas Day 18 450 travellers to Mozambique were processed at the Lebombo border post.

* There has been mixed reaction in Nigeria to US airstrikes on Islamic State targets in the north west of the country. Nigeria's government has admitted that it was involved in intelligence gathering that led to the air strikes.
