Scientists In Uganda Seek To Ramp Up Rice Production Using Different Varieties

Scientists in Uganda are carrying out trials on different rice varieties in a bid to increase the country's total production. Most of the country's rice is imported and authorities want to make the country -- and local farmers -- more self-sufficient. Experts from 25 African countries have been meeting in Kampala to discuss ways of solving food security problems on the continent. Isabel Nakirya, filed this report.
