Several Spaza shops in Upington in the Northern Cape, are allegedly, selling liquor to the public and allegedly even to minors.
This is in contravention of several local bylaws and criminal laws.
Alcohol abuse remains a factor in many crimes in the Lower Orange River region, including Gender-based violence, assault and murder.
SABC News's senior reporter Ulrich Hendriks and video journalist Thapelo Kgomotshwane visited some of the shops and found just how easy it was to buy alcoholic beverages.
