Political analyst Dr Hlengiwe Ndlovu says although South Africa is governed by ten parties under the GNU, any change in the executive remains the prerogative of the President. Dr. Ndlovu was responding to reports that DA leader and Minister of Agriculture, John Steenhuisen has requested the President to sack the Minister of Environment, Forestry and Fisheries, Dr Dion George over alleged underperformance. He wants Dr.George to be replaced by the party's spokesperson, Willie Aucamp.
The DA says it will not comment at this stage nor would the Presidency want be drawn to comment on the matter.
