A 67-year-old former police officer has appeared in the Cala Magistrate's Court in the Eastern Cape, in connection with the murder of anti-apartheid activist Bathandwa Ndondo 40 years ago. The accused was attached to the then Transkei security branch at the time of the murder. Ndondo was shot and killed on the 24th of September 1985 after he was allegedly taken from his house by the accused and three others for questioning.
