The platform conducts health research with special interest in developing new herbal medicines working with communities and traditional healers with the knowledge and background of herbal medicines.

It has been recognised by various departments and now AMITD is leading a global research project into traditional medicine after being awarded a research grant from the World Health Organisation.

This project will take place six regions including Africa, America, Southeast Asia, Europe, Eastern Mediterranean and the Western Pacific.
