The Zanzibar presidential candidate who was arrested on Tuesday has been released from custody.
This comes as concerns grow over the credibility of Tanzania's elections.
The United States says it has serious doubts over irregularities, a concern also shared by the opposition.
The vote has been marred by complaints of restricted internet access and fraud.
Al Jazeera's Catherine Soi reports from Nairobi in neighbouring Kenya.
